I always see "la gente".But does "un gente" exist too?

I think gente is not countable?

In my book, it says:

I thought it is la gente, but the book says un gente, I am confused.

So,

This sentence is wrong ?

Is this correct?

La gente / una gente (as a collective noun). Necesitan gente en la oficina (more than one person is being sought). Necesitan una persona en la oficina (when only one person is needed).
