What are yigüirros? It's not in my dictionary, the SD dictionary or even in RAE.
Here is the sentence (from the book Pantalones Cortos). For anyone interested in reading the book (it's not too hard), I am making Flashcards of all of the words that I don't know...they'd be a help for any intermediate person. This is the first of a series of four popular Costa Rican books...the diary of a young boy as he grows up.
Anyway, here's the sentence:
"Al llegar al colegio, mis compañeros cayeron como yigüirros sobre maíz."
