Cooking Squid Spanish Style/Calamares a la plancha
You know how you get squid which seems to be a squid maybe cut in half with garlic and chopped parsley. Has anyone got a good recipe for that. Perhaps this is one for native Spanish people. I mean "a la plancha" o sea calamares a la plancha We have some Scottish squid! Thanks

Beware of those Scottish squids Birdland! They have little kilts on, and people have been known to choke on them. On a better note, you can use their little bagpipes as toothpicks when you are done with your meal.

It worked! Perfect, chopped garlic in olive oil then brown the fresh squid both sides then cover with lemon juice and chopped parsley.
The patatas bravas need to be half deep fried and the roasted peppers need to be in the oven first then, when nearly ready, do the calamares. * Patatas bravas and peppers, and onions roasted in olive oil in the oven. It was wonderful.
Here is one recipe that seems to be close. I'm not sure if it is what you are looking for. You can probably substitute the basil with parsley if you like.
Squid/calamar is referred to as "rabas" in Argentina. Very popular. Ask for rabas a la provenzal. Mmmm.
Here's my recipe for Patatas Bravas. It's how they are made in Scotland, Well how they are made in my kitchen.
I made a pdf file. Hope it works! By the way if anybody has a different more interesting take, tell us as this is a made-up recipe. link text
I need to correct my entry re "rabas." In Argentina, Rabas means calamari rings, not just calamari.
