How do you say, "please do not cut the tree"?

I do not want my lawn maintenance man to cut/trim a tree when they are trimming my shrubbery. How do I ask them not to?

Do you want to tell them "don't cut the tree down" or "don't damage the tree"?

The sign should probably assume the negative informal command structure(subjunctive, 2nd person singular).

To tell them not to cut the tree down

"No cortes el árbol"

To tell them to leave the tree alone altogether

"No molestes el árbol"

I'm a rookie here, but that is my guess. Either of the other answers should be understood, too. You can also add the "por favor" to the ending, if you'd like.
