How do I pronounce words that have an accent?

I know they have an effect on a word, I just don't know how to say them. For example: razón, cántico, jóvenes, ocasión. Thanks for any help!

You need to be able to visualize how the word would be pronounced if the stress was moved to another syllable. For example:

can... ti...co

can...ti...co

can...ti....co.

the accent mark on cántico tells you that the 1st option is correct.

The way I do it is by saying the syllable with the accent louder, for cántico, CAN-ti-co. Razón, ra-ZON , jóvenes, JO-ven-es, ocasión, o-ca-SION, etc., etc.
