Quiero estarme = quiero quedarme?

Quiero estarme = quiero quedarme?

I have heard estar like this, in poetry, songs etc... but rarely. But a kid said it in this show just like that: Quiero estarme. I want to stay. It works like quedarse in that context doesn't it? Gracias.

I have heard it in this colloquial context: "Quiero estarme con Uds. unos días". I think the correct verb should be quedarme or pasarme (not even the reflexive is required with pasar)

Ok so we think it's quedarse then, that's what I am thinking. - jeezzle, Feb 10, 2011

I can´t see why some people use reflexive form of estar in such a way. But I think it reflects poor education.

I want to stay --> Quiero quedarme

To stand still --> Quedarse parado

Be quiet --> Quédate callado

To be quiet ---> Estar callado.

That`s different from using estar+pronoun when you have two verbs, because it´s not estar but the other verb the one who carries the perosnal pronoun, but therçés a tendecy to displace the (enclitic) pronoun and add it to the ´first´verb.

For example: estar cayéndose

Estaba cayéndome = me estaba cayendo (acceptable)------> Estábame cayendo (??) (wrong!)
