Mantente..........
From Mantener. Tú form. A woman says, mantente hijo, mantente, mantente. To her son. Is she saying "Maintain yourself" like "keep it even"? "don't lose it now"? OR am I way wrong and is it all wrong? OK after like a few minutes of that, then she said "Mantente vivo" so maybe, stay alive because maintain alive = keep yourself alive? Mantente vivo = stay alive? What about quédate vivo, is mantente vivo the best way?

Yes that's it.
It's the pronominal form of mantener (mantenerse).
Mantente vivo = stay alive (as you have said)
No puedo mantener abiertos los ojos = I can't keep my eyes open.
