They both mean "hole" according to the dictionary, but which would I use where?
"El árbol tiene un(a) hoyo(a)." Cual se usaría aqui?

Hoya --- Concavidad u hondura grande formada enla tierra (no en un árbol).
Creo que debes usar hoyo.
