Garbage Characters

Question

Why do I sometimes see garbage characters like the following which I just cut and pasted. This was near the top of the screen where there is normally an advertisement. If it makes any difference I am using Mozilla Firefox.

new function() { this.rand = Math.floor((Math.random() + "") * 1000000000000); this.dvparams = 'ctx=900259&cmp=900261&plc=2173002&sid=504839'; this.tagsrc = ''+'ipt src="http://bs.serving-sys.com/BurstingPipe/adServer.bs?cn=rsb&c=28&pli=2173002&PluID=0&e=0&w=728&h=90&ord=1406476789&ncu;=$$http://network.realmedia.com/RealMedia/ads/click_lx.ads/spanishdict/ros/728x90/lif/ss/a/L31/1406476789/Top1/USNetwork/BCN2011010439_001a_ITTTech/ITTTech_CC_728.html

Get adblock Plus...It's an add on in Firefox. You won't see any adds or the rubbish they generate. - lagartijaverde, Feb 9, 2011

Answer 1

It's a scripting error which causes the ad to display incorrectly, and displays the coding behind it instead.

Answer 2

Are you using FireFox? I have tried IE9, Google Chrome and FireFox on this site but I have only noticed the characters when using FireFox. You might try Google Chrome. I liked that browser, but it gave me some problems with some FaceBook Apps, so I went went FireFox
