Ad blocking survey

Ad blocking survey

Just wanted to let you know that the Continental Airlines / Chase credit card ad is blocking today's survey questions. I have tried to close these ads without success - there is no "x" button on the ads. Clicking on them takes you off SpanishDict.com to another web site. I do not think this is how it's supposed to work.

There is never an "X" on the ads. That sort of defeats the purpose of them paying for you to see them. The ads always work that way: when you click on them, it should open up a new browser and take you to their site. The SpanishDict survey box should not be interfering with them though, on my screen it is off to the side and they don't overlap. Are you using Firefox?

When you said "ad blocking" I thought you were talking about the solution, rather than the problem.

I haven't seen those ads today. I could do the survey without a problem.

I see two of the same ads, covering portions of the survey that I cannot see all of the responses. - LaBurra, Feb 9, 2011

I did the survey with no ads blocking it at all. Hmmm... interesting that you had that experience. The only ads I'm "forced" to view on this website are the videos that precede the watch portion of the lessons. So far all other ads on this site are off to the side of the content and easily ignored. I am wondering if your experience perhaps has nothing to do with Spanishdict. Do you experience these pop-up ads on other websites as well?. That happened to me a while back when I subscribed to something called Atomic Clock. I thought I was just signing up for an accurate time readout, but instead it was some kind of virus or trojan horse or something that infiltrated my computer and caused constant pop-up ads.
