Son Tuyos sentences
Tu amigo insiste en preguntarte de quiénes son las cosas. Tú le contestas de forma muy enfática. Sigue el modelo.
Modelo: ¿De quién es esta mochila? / yo ¡La mochila es mía!
1.¿De quién es este sombrero? / tú ¡El sombrero es tuyo!
2.¿De quiénes son estos cinturones? / Tomás y Ricardo
- ¿De quiénes son estos zapatos? / Uds.
4.¿De quién son estas gafas de sol? / yo
¡Las gafas de sol son mías!
5.¿De quién es este paraguas? / Teresa
Could someone help with 2 3 and 5?
1 Answer
Two. Tómas y Ricardo (theirs)
Three. Uds. (yours)
Five. Teresa (hers)
You do the Spanish.
Note: this exercise is somewhat misleading. It is about possessive pronouns. Usually the possessive pronouns are used with the definite articles....el mío. The exception is after the verb Ser. All of the sentences in this lesson use the verb Ser so the definite article is not used. Just remember for future use that it is los tuyos, not tuyos except after Ser. (son tuyos) ¿Dónde están los tuyos?
Another important fact to remember is that the pronoun agrees with its antecedent, not with the owner of the object. For example No. 4:
4.¿De quién son estas gafas de sol? / yo
¡Las gafas de sol son mías!
The owner (yo) is singular, (and maybe masculine), but the antecedent of the pronoun (las gafas de sol) is plural and feminine. So it is mías.
