Cheranastico Indian community hijacks 10 buses as part of a protest
Mexico - More than 300 members of the Cheranastico Indian community of Paracho, Michoacan, hijacked 10 transport buses Sunday and took their drivers hostage as part of a protest against illegal logging.
The Cheranasticos say they took the buses in an act of defiance against the government of Michoacán, who they accuse of repeatedly refusing to combat the problem of illegal forest exploitation.
