It's talking about what a guy is, and says "Negro literario y periodista". I don't get "Negro literario" Black literary? and journalist?> Gracias.

The "negro literario" does the work and somebody else takes the credit ( in most cases not without a contract),

El negro literario, es una figura que su origen era cercana a la esclavitud creativa y que además se quedaba siempre en la sombra.

¿Cómo surge esta figura? Desde que la literatura se convierte en un negocio y aparecen autores que no pueden cubrir la demanda y deciden alquilar a otros, normalmente escritores novatos o caídos en desgracia, para que les rellenen las cuartillas a cambio de unas pocas monedas.

También es un negro literario el escritor que ,por dinero,se presta a escribir las memorias de alguien famoso y postriormente simulan que las escribió el famoso.

Maybe I can add something here. When James Mitchner wrote his novels he used a team of writers and researchers to gather the information and write the chapters. He (Mitchner) assembled the work and wrote the final manuscript. His team were "negro literarios".

Wait so it is a pen name like when Steven King published his work under Richard Bachman or (a fake name) or does he really publish under a real person's name like a ghost writer>? Gracias.
