In Honduras it was usually called a quinder (thats how its pronounced), but how to spell it? And would plural be quinders?

Kinder. Here's an article about it. It's a German word, so they generally keep the K.

In my Oxford Spanish dictionary Kindergarten is given/translated as 'jardín de infancía' /jardín de infantes (RPI) which is what I had previously be told/taught.

This should not be confused with a work-place nursery which is translated as 'guardería'

I hope this helps grin
