puginto/puqinto?

A friend of mine learning Spanish wrote me a note that referred to either "puqinto de elefante" or "puginto de elefante". I think she was trying to describe a baby elephant. I'm fairly certain that she was trying to write "poquito" thinking she could use it to mean "a little elephant".

My question is: am I correct in guessing she meant to (incorrectly) use "poquito" or is there some lexical item I am missing in my Spanish for a special word for baby elephant?

It could have been pequeñito, very small.

Also pequeñin, tiny, little or little one.

Can you say "pequeñito de elefante" though? Would it be "elefante pequeñito"? - Luciente, Feb 7, 2011
I'd agree with your supposition. - pacofinkler, Feb 7, 2011
