to undergo a medical examination

Viene de una oración simple:

"You are required to undergo a medical examination."

1. Está requerido que usted realize una examinación médica.
2. Se requiere que usted se someta a una examinación médica.
3. Es necesario que ...
4. Es obligatorio que...

¿Suenan bien? ¿Cuál les suena mejor?

Who is doing the obligating and requiring? A little more context is needed here for an adecuate response. ie: If a doctor is saying this, I would choose the second option but starting with "Es necesario..." - 005faa61, Feb 7, 2011

The second one is perfect to me. I would only change "una examinación médica" for "un exámen médico".

gfreed - I tend to stick with 'usted' when it's a medical/public service/law document, just to assert the level of formality. In speech it could be less formal, though. :) - amy_moreno, Feb 8, 2011
