I just corrected Santo to Santa. It's Maria we're talking about. Great question, btw! - gone, Feb 7, 2011
This correction hasn't been well made. I have corrected it again. It is "santo". In Spain, this is a way of saying something and it doesn't have genre. It has to be in masculine. - nila45, Feb 8, 2011

My goodness, that sounds good, is it in our Phrasebook? - margaretbl, Feb 7, 2011
I think it is used only in England. - elotroleonardo, Feb 7, 2011
But I think you caught the exact meaning of the Spanish, perfect. - margaretbl, Feb 7, 2011
@Elo: The expression 'cup of tea' is also very common in los Estados Unidos, at least I have used it and others have understood me. ;o) - cristalino, Feb 7, 2011
"It's not my cup of tea" does capture the meaning of the Spanish phrase. - gone, Feb 7, 2011

Ya que se trata de una expresión que se refiere al hecho de que una persona no se encuentra precisamente entre las favoritas de otra, "el centro de mi atención" no me parece lo más adecuado.

Creo que Margaret dice el equivalente a "Object of my affection" - 005faa61, Feb 7, 2011
Fijate en not, Agora. Dije no es el centro de mi atencion - BellaMargarita, Feb 7, 2011
De todos modos, Margaret-Nah, tu frase "no es el centro de mi atención" no me parece apropiada. - Agora, Feb 7, 2011
Si Nila45, pero que aprendan correcto español. - Agora, Feb 7, 2011
Agora tiene razón, jóvenes. No se trata de ser el centro de atención. Simplemente, no me gusta María. Punto. - gone, Feb 7, 2011

No. Santa de mi devoción means you don't like her period. You don't want María around you. - gone, Feb 7, 2011

I agree with Julian, Maria is not the object of my affection.

¿Se quedó corto? He underestimated it? I don't think I get it? - jeezzle, Feb 7, 2011

Well if you don't like the 'cup of tea' one (which I personally think nails it!) How about: I'm not a member of her fan club!! (Maria's)

I'm going with the literal, "Maria is not the saint I pray to."
