You asked if the [fuimos is a form of] "ir" or "ser" .....or "irse". Because the sentence reads "Nos fuimos", I would vote for "irse".

From my Collins desktop dictionary:

2 (= marcharse) to go, leave

¡Nos fuimos! (LAm)* --> let's go!, off we go! *

I would also say in English "Let's go to bed!" "Off we go to bed" .

In the same entry we find:

Es hora de irnos. --> It's time we were going..

Janice, your usage of "ir/irse" is excellent, however; the differences created by personal suffixes do not create a new verb. It's still the verb "Ir." The RAE doesn't even recognize "Irse" as a stand-alone verb. ¡Saludos! - 005faa61, Feb 17, 2011

thank you both! I saw my teacher and it was ir. we hadn't talked about irse yet
