Voy a buscar las revistas que ... en este libro

Question

I'm especially uncertain about the tense of the bolded part in the following sentence:

I'm going to search for the journals that are mentioned in this book.

My guess for the rest:

Voy a buscar las revistas que ... en este libro

Is the bolded part even correct English (which isn't my native language either)? Or is it are being mentioned?

In English both are correct but which should be used depends on context. Are mentioned is the perfect way to tell what the journal citations are in a book. Are being mentioned would be the way to tell what is being talked about at the moment. Talking about a current newspaper article you would say the vice president is being mentioned as a candidate for the court vacancy. Or about a TV news story, Come and listen, the political situation in China is being mentioned.

In the neighborhood, the garbage cans are emptied on Thursdays, but when you can't hear well enough to talk on the phone because of the noise the garbage cans are being emptied.

This is correct English- I would recommend in Spanish saying "han mencionado", which means 'they have been mentioned.' This tense in Spanish indicates something happening in the past all the way up to the present, which I believe would work with a book listing.
