Why do we have different words for males and females, When it means the same thing?
for example masculine-el feminine-la both mean the same thing... Right!

I assume you mean 'why'.
Every language is unique in its own way. I picked up Spanish to appreciate the language and culture of a region unfamiliar to me.
Many languages have male and female nouns and Spanish is one of those. El and la show which group the noun following belongs too. Studying another language gives you a chance to think about how both your native language and the one you're studying work. You'll find that English has a huge number situations where two or more words mean the same thing.
