My best friend got jealous when I was talking to my boyfriend. He is now mad at me, and I don't understand. Can someone explain this to me?

"Friends" between men and women? It's complicated. My wife left me for her "friend". She left her boyfriend for me when I was her bestfriend. My ex before that left her ex for her friend, which was me, and left me her friend. Men and women work like that. "Friends" between men and women = somebody on the backburner. Sometimes it gets old but that's how it goes. It amazes me how many people (women usually) that think they have all these guy friends who buy them stuff and listen to them talk for hours on end and are content to just be friends....

It is possible for men and women to be friends, but the rules have to be clear and the "friends" have to respect their mates or else it turns into a horrible mess like jeezzle describes. - Echoline, Feb 2, 2011
I agree. Someone will soon post a counterexample, but una golondrina no hace verano. - mediterrunio, Feb 2, 2011
As I said, too soon Echo provided a counter theory. - mediterrunio, Feb 2, 2011

Obviously, he does not want to be just your friend.

Él no es tu mejor amigo. Los buenos amigos celebran el amor de sus amigos y no tratan de arruinarlo. Aléjate de él.
