I am trying to understand yet another Cuban song. (I won't stop until I understand the entire CD, so please bear with me.) I hear the word 'mulata', which I understand, and I imagine that 'mulatica' is related. Am I right, and what does -ica imply?

Mulatica is a diminutive, meaning "little mulata". In Cuba, often "ico/a" is used rather than "ito/a". eg, momentico, vs momentito. I heard that a lot.

Thanks Sheily. I'm jealous that you got to visit Cuba. Before I die, I will party with the Cubans at least once. I'm already 40, so I'd better hurry. - Intense, Feb 13, 2011

Mulatica could be used as a name here, or just changes the word, but not meaning, just like in diminutives - hijo, hijito. Maybe the Cubans sometimes use -ica instead of -ita. If not, I have no idea.
