Welcome to the forum Leo. Please use punctuation on your posts; capital letters, periods, and the pronoun "I," is always capitalized. Thank you. - 002262dd, Feb 2, 2011

de is a preposition meaning "of" often it is combined with the article "el" to form "del" which is translated into "of the". casa del sol = house of the sun.

At the top of the page is the translation box. Type "de" in it and you will be rewarded with a ton of meanings.

It literally translates to "of nothing". It is phrasal, just like when we say it's nothing or don't mention it.
