Alergía or Alergia?
Under the word for allergy the dictionary has "alergia" and Lesson 2.15 has it spelled "alergía", so I'm confused as to which one is correct. Could anyone clarify for me? ![]()

According to the D R A E no accent mark.
It CAN be written "Alergía" but this is unnecessary as the accent change would not lead to a different meaning or conjugation.
So you're saying it can be pronounced Al ER gia OR AlergIA? That seems odd.

So-Cal all the way!
Accoring to my Oxford Spanish Dictionary allergy is spelt alergia without an accent so Kevin is correct!
However, the adjective alérgico / -ca has an accent and refers to a person who is allergic por ejemplo: María es una persona alérgica.= Maria (Mary) is an alergic person
Compare this with: María tiene una alergia = Maria has an allergy
I hope this also helps clarify the situation a little bit more ![]()
