I think...
that you'd say lentamente or poco a poco (little by little) instead of despacio.
That is not to detract from your bettering.
High five - alto cinco!
Oh, you'd say está mejorandose - bettering itself - getting better, and leave out the 'yo' 
Good though, and a great site for doing such.
