Small talk?

Small talk?

Is there a Spanish equivalent of the term "small talk"?

For Spanish speakers not familiar with the term: small-talk is light, politically correct, uncomplicated conversation. Like talking about the weather, asking the typical "how are you?" and "how is the family/boyfriend/girlfriend?", etc. Conversations are usually started as small talk.

That could be something like:

hablar naderías

hablar de naderias

Also, conversación liviana
