Hi everybody

I am planning a chat on Saturday, 11.30 pm Spain on Capital Punishment.

I must see if we get at least 10 intermediate to advanced students on the chat, plus some natives, hopefully.

This chat will be entirely in Spanish, normal conversation speed, you need to be able to hold a conversation and you need to prepare the theme of the day. You can be either in favour or against capital punishment, of course, but you need to reason your point of view.

Unfortunately Annie's reading group has been postponed, so I am doing this chat.

The next chat will be in English, for Spanish natives who are helping a lot on the chats.

Hay que preparar algo de este tipo :

1) ¿Existe la pena de muerte en tu país/estado? ¿Ha existido antes..por qué fue abolida?

2) Pon algunos ejemplos de crímenes que en tu opinión deberían ser castigados más duramente.

3) ¿Estás de acuerdo con la pena de muerte en caso de guerra?

4) ¿Qué alternativas a la pena de muerte se te ocurren o de hecho existen? ¿Tiene alguna desventaja este tipo alternativo de castigos: para el criminal/la sociedad/la víctima?

5) Piensa en penas de muerte en otros paises como la horca o incluso la lápidación ¿Piensas que esto es peor que la inyección letal o es igual para ti, matar es matar?

5) Expón tu opinión personal y quizás incluso alguna razón personal por la que estás a favor o en contra.

I am inviting the following speakers to this chat whose Spanish is really good, anybody is intived to listen though. If you are not an advanced speaker, you can also prepare the topic and read what you have prepared.

On these kind of chats we only correct mistakes if we do not understand what the speaker is saying.
