If someone was outside my house

And was going to come in and kill my wife and me, and she was scared and I told her we are safe, lying to her because I know we are going to die, would that be "estamos seguro" or "estamos a salvos", I think "estamos a salvos". Gracias. Would it change to "estamos seguro" if I was telling the truth and we really were safe, or does it matter or am I totally wrong? Gracias

Estamos a salvo (no s). We're safe. Estamos salvados (We made it safe and sound). Estamos seguros (We're sure) and it can mean We're safe, but it's more loose and can lead to a myriad of misinterpretations.

it sound more naturally to say "no te preocupes, vamos a estar bien" because "estamos seguros" although is gramatically correct, doesn't sound naturally in that context to me. (i'm spanish native speaker)
