"Trepar" requires a part of the body to push oneself up.

"Escalar" requires either a ladder, or a part of the body (i.e. it also means "trepar").

"Subir" is possible, but for a more expressive option here you can use verbs like "elevarse", "alzarse", "levantar/alzar/remontar (el vuelo)"...
