di comes from decir... to say or tell togther with "me" it is tell me.

if you say "dile" it means tell him or her

"dinos" tell us etc.

say it like this "dee-may"

Clarification: Only informal situations, like to friends, family, & children. The more formal way to say "tell me" is "digame." - happyquilter, Feb 9, 2011

Di is the informal singular affirmative command of decir meaning to say or to tell.
