This is a passenger situation? Like, we're just passengers here, and we have to just go with the flow? Is this used often? Gracias.

Yes, it's fine although people also say Esto es algo pasajero. The second one is most common.

Pasajero-a is both a noun and an adjective.
As a noun it means passenger.
As an adjective it means passing, fleeting, or temporary.

In a sentence where it follows a noun, it is an adjective modifying the noun.

Totally agree. The correct phrase should be: This is a temporary situation. Una cosa pasajera o algo pasajero. - gone, Jan 28, 2011

Hmm, well no,

una situación pasajera will go away , it won't be long until this situation gets better

So it always carries the idea of a temporary event? - lagartijaverde, Jan 28, 2011
