I wasn't myself
No era mi mismo. Because it wasn't a one time action, it was an ongoing event of "being" myself therefore era, and not fue? BUT what about estaba? No estaba mi mismo since estar can mean more temporary like, estoy gordo etc... Gracias.

Se dice no era yo mismo. The reason why ES is used to describe a temporary situation is because it is in the negative, which essentially makes a negative permanent situation. I hope this makes sense.
No era yo mismo. since you are talking in general about you, and you still being you.
