I don't know how to say older in Spanish. Does anyone know? If so please answer quickly excaim

For people: mayor de edad

For objects: mas viejo

It's mayor (mayores if plural), if you are talking about people, & más viejo/antiguo for objects.

If you enter the word old in the dictionary/translate box, you'll find phrases for both old & older as you scroll down the page. Knowing that it is derived from "old," you would have to be a little creative and resourceful when you're looking for words like this one.

In a fond way between husband and wife for example: "viejita" or "veijito" would be very common in México. You will also hear a phrase like: "mi viejo come muchos dulces".

Or :"mi vieja tiene muchas hermanas".

Not at all pejorative.

To simply say "he is an old man (or woman) , the phrase would be: es una persona mayor,or es una persona de edad avanzada.

Very polite usage.
