I have heard the "they" part of the verb used as a plural command, like

comen!

but when I look in the present tense meanings it says that the "they" part of the verb is for "you formal and they" so I'm a bit confused.

Also

the vosotros part, coméis, it is said to be "you eat, familiar" the same as "comes (tu), so are these both the same?

thanks in advance

Vosotros is plural, tú is singular.

The same conjugated verb forms are used for ellos and ustedes.

So it would be ellos comen, ustedes comen, meaning they eat and you eat formal? - dewclaw, Jan 26, 2011
that is correct! - Deanski, Jan 26, 2011

About the word ¡Comen! I'm sure it was an oversight, but in written Spanish, there must be an exclamation point before the command if there is one at the end. Comen the way you have written it is a command, and it seems from the plural form of it that this command is referring to more than one person. Good luck with your lessons!
