Your old phone number.

Question

Morning all, irrespective of what time it is with you, I'm just after having got up...

I want to say 'your old phone number' and having looked at our dictionary am still none the wiser as to whether to use antiguo or viejo, maybe neither are fitting.

Clearly 'old' in Ingrish does not always mean something that has endured many a moon nor something that is worn out.

I don't want to say 'your last phone number' as this might not be accurate, I don't know if the list of numbers I have contains the last number, penultimate number etc. that people had.

Direcciones de e-mail? A los sin direcciones ---> Quien no nos haya enviado su dirección, por favor enviarla a Travera. Si no, no nos hacemos responsables por el nombre que escojamos.

También, si tu número de celular es distinto de lo que tenemos anotado aquí, avísale a Travis o tu tarjeta saldría con tu número VIEJO/ANTIGUO.

También, si tu número de celular es distinto **al que tenemos en archivo****, por favor avísale a Travis o tu tarjeta saldrá con el número **equivocado.

Equivocado is better than old. In essence, the number printed would be wrong unless it is updated.

Say your were married, but had previously been married five times. Wouldn't all five of your previous marriages be "matrimonios anteriores"?

In Spanish, ni idea 'mano, hence my preguntica. Oftentimes translations differ in exact sentiment.

I have actually been married 7 times and so feel myself to be in the perfect position to answer your little poser.

I would say that 'my previous marriage' pertains to the marriage that you were involved in immediately prior to your current, whereas 'a previous marriage' would refer to any past marriage that you might have had.

Anteriores is plural and therefore assumes there was more than one marriage. Anterior does not and can be used to mean LAST. - gone, Jan 26, 2011

Either way may work, depending on context a bit.

For example: ¿Cuál es tu antiguo número de teléfono?

¿Ese es tu número viejo?

¿Cuál era tu número telefónico anterior? (last - previous)

¿Este número que tengo es el antiguo / viejo / que tenías antes?
