Writing a date range in Spanish

Question

I am a little unsure about how to write a date range in Spanish. For now the year is not a consideration, only the month and day. I am concerened about the proper use of the articles and prepostions. Gracias.

Jan 2 - Jan 5

del 2 al 5 enero either/or ?

de 2 a 5 enero

July 31 - Aug 2

de 31 July al 2 agosto

I have heard:

.....del 28 de junio al 7 de julio

....del 28 de junio hasta el 7 de julio

Personally, I would go with the word "por" with this. For example, "31 de Juilo por 2 de Agosto." I hope this helps get the ball rolling.
