costarricense and costarriqueño

I know costarricense and costarriqueño both mean Costa Rican - of the country and nationality. Are there really no differences? And do we know why there are two terms?

¡Gracias!

It is costarricense, but someone in this forum claims that they don't speak Spanish. Maybe he'll give you a different opinion. Mine is based on what you find in dictionaries and atlases.
