Preterite, Reflexive Verbs

Question

For the preterite reflexive verbs:

for example: acostarse in the yo form: Is it correct to say: "Yo me acosté tarde" or "Yo acosté tarde"?

My textbook is not clear on this.

The first one is unusual; the second one is wrong. It should be "Me acosté tarde".
