A hot flash is the acute sense of feeling hot due to the hormonal changes of menopause, and it is often used in the plural. What is the equivalent word or phrase in Spanish? Un «hot flash» es el sentido agudo de calor causado por los cambios hormonales de la menopausia. ¿Cual es la frase o palabra equivalented en castellano?

I've never heard flashes, rather flushes. - afowen, Jan 24, 2011

Thanks - that is what my Mexican wife says is used there. I'm still wondering if other parts of the Spanish-speaking world use other words or phrases. - Michael-Diaz, Jan 24, 2011

Be careful with the use of " los calores" in México, it has a very explicit sexual connotation. - Agora, Jan 24, 2011
