Preocuparse means to worry about something or somebody.

Me preocupo por Pepe.

Preocupar means to worry/bother.

No preocupes (molestes) a tu padre

I think most of the questions related to the use of ´se´ are related to the fact that impersonal and passive se are mixed up and confusing in the SD Reference section.
