It was a one-time event, so you should say Hicimos un viaje a Madrid el año pasado. Nosotros is not necessary unless you are emphasizing 'we" as opposed to someone else. We is understood in the conjugation of the verb.

Since this occurred only once and the trip was completed, it would be a better idea to use the preterite, here. Hicimos un viaje a Madrir el año pasado.
Notice that I dropped the "Nosotros". You should rarely include the subject pronoun unless your either emphasizing the subject or your clarifying.
