Nasreddin Goes Shopping
One day Nasreddin went to town to buy new clothes. First he tried on a pair of trousers. He didn't like the trousers, so he gave them back to the shopkeeper. Then he tried a robe which had the same price as the trousers. Nasreddin was pleased with the robe, and he left the shop. Before he climbed on his donkey to ride home, the shopkeeper and the shop-assistant ran out.
"You didn't pay for the robe!" said the shopkeeper.
"But I gave you the trousers in exchange for the robe, didn't I?" replied Nasreddin.
"Yes, but you didn't pay for the trousers, either!" said the shopkeeper.
"But I didn't buy the trousers," replied Nasreddin. "I am not so stupid as to pay for something which I never bought."

Raúl y Rosa trabajan por la noche. Ellos trabajan en la biblioteca y estudian mucho desde las ocho de la tarde hasta las dos de la mañana. Rosa y Raúl son amigos pero Rosa y Manolo son novios. Ella llama a Manolo por teléfono y ellos hablan por unos minutos a las once de la noche. A veces Rosa habla con Raúl de sus problemas sentimentales. Los tres regresan a casa muy tarde por la mañana. 1) How did Nasreddin get to the shop? Presumably, he got to the shop ridden on his donkey.
2) What did Nasreddin do first in the shop? First, he tried on a pair of trousers.
3) What did Nasreddin try on next? The next he tried on it was a robe.
4) Which item did Nasreddin like best? He liked the robe more than the trousers.
5) How many people were working in the shop? This is not said in the text, but at least two people, the shopkeeper and the shop-assistant, work in the shop.
6) Why was the shopkeeper angry when Nasreddin left? Because Nasreddin was leaving the shop taking the robe without having paid for it.
7) What did Nasreddin actually pay for? He didn't pay for anything.
