Recommended novel in Spanish and Kindle comment
I had been reading novels originally written in English and translated to Spanish (for example Grisham's The Firm). Since I had previously read the book in English I knew the plot line. It was helping my Spanish vocabulary but not really all that enjoyable.
I had been thinking of reading a novel originally written in Spanish and actually bought a few in our Spanish used book store but hadn't started them yet. A friend recommended "El Juego del Angel" by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. I highly recommend this book. The vocabulary is hard (for me, at least) but the story line just pulls the reader along. Its is one of the best novels I have read in any language.
The book is available on Amazon in both printed and Kindle format. I am reading it on my new Kindle. Today after a comment from Quentin I went to Amazon and downloaded a Spanish/English dict for $6. While reading the book on the Kindle I can now place the cursor on the Spanish word I don't know and I automatically get the English translation. This is better than juggling a dictionary in one hand and a Kindle in the other.

I read "La sombra del viento" by Ruiz Zafón, it's also good.
Conviene también leer algo divertido. Busca si Mafalda de Quino está disponible en Kindle. Es una tira cómica muy buena y profunda. Aunque tiene algunos regionalismos típicos Argentinos, es una forma muy simpática de profundizar el aprendizaje.
100 años de soledad by Garcia Marquez
I would suggest reading "Amor A Primera Vista" de Mariana Ferrer. Although Its a short story, its made for spanish learners at the intermediate level. Not too easy, not too hard either.
