Question

I am trying to say, "Like a good book, I can't put this day back."

Would this be accurate? "Como un libro bueno, no puedo devolver este día."

Gracias! (The phrase is from a song, if you're curious!)

How about, "This day has been so wonderful that I don't want it to end?"

I guess that would be something like: Este día ha sido (estado?) tan maravilloso que no quiero que termine.

Lo único que se me ocurre decir que podría tener un significado aproximado sería..."Todo pasado fue mejor"

Thanks for both suggestions. I was trying to translate the phrase directly (something I know is frequently not possible), not trying to just say the day was really good. Your suggestions have shown me that the phrase doesn't carry meaning in Spanish.

I guess a follow-up would be: what would one say about a really good book, a page-turner. In English, we would say, "I can't put this book down." What would one say in Spanish?
