Can rendir be used in this way?

Question

If someone wants me tell them something, like a secret, can I say "no voy a rendirlo tan fácilmente." ? Or is rendir not used in this way?

No it's not used in that way, "rendir" means "to surrender/give up".

• In that case you can use two verbs: Decir and Revelar, and in your example it would be something like:
• No voy a revelarlo(revelártelo)/decirlo(decírtelo).-
• The words in parentheses make the sense of the sentence more personal to the person you are talking with.

You cannot use rendir in your sentence. It would be more adecuate to put another verb like: tell, say, revelar

Rendir can also be used in this sentence: Do an exam = Rendir un examen.
