any help on the translation. I translated it as: Who goes to be? which does not make any sense.

Who are they going to be? Like "who is going to play the roles of these characters, who are they gonna be?"

Literally, "Who are going to be?"
We might say, "Who (all) is it going to be?"
It uses (3rd person plural) "ir" to form the informal future tense.
