But not as in personally playing an instrument (ie: tocando la guitarra)-- I mean as in playing music on my computer, or playing a CD. Thanks! -Nikki

You can always say "to listen to music" escuchar música or something along those lines. Maybe if you are playing music in a group you could say "to share music" compartir música

I guess you're looking for the verb poner. "poner música = to play music"

I think it's still tocar, but I can't be sure even though I think I've seen it as tocar. Can't be sure though.
