Update: By our count, we have a grand total of four participants for our Spanish Game Night - which won't make for a very fun game... How would everyone feel about changing the time to 7:00 Eastern time on Saturday night? That usually tends to be a pretty good time for everyone, and we want a good turnout for a good night of fun Spanish Games! Please let us know as soon as possible, and if the responses to changing this are positive, then we will change the day and time. Just keep watching this post for updates!
Hey everyone,
Chris and I will start hosting Spanish game nights every other Sunday from January 30th, 2011. This also gives someone the opportunity to host on the Sunday’s that we are not hosting 
We will try to come up with as many “fun” games as we can that will also enable us to learn and practice our Spanish. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. We were thinking of hosting the chats 2 pm Eastern Standard Time USA (8 pm Spain time) because we know it’s a Sunday night and everyone has work the next day.
The game we have chosen to play this month is: Boy, Girl, Animal, Place, Thing, and Verb
Here is how we are going to play this game:
1) The names added to the Skype chat are usually in alphabetic order; we are going to use this order to determine who says the alphabet and who says start and stop. For example: If my name is the first to appear in the list followed by Gary, Gary will tell me start, I will start saying the alphabet in my head, Gary will then tell me to stop when he likes, I will stop and tell everyone the letter I stopped at.
2) Let’s say I stopped at ‘’C’’. I then need to fill in the 6 sections with a letter starting with ‘’C’’. You will type your answers in the chat screen as follows: Christian, Cassandra, Cordero, Chile, Carro, Comer
3) Let’s say you do not know the answer for a section please put ‘’----‘’ in that section and continue because you will be graded based on how your answers appear and if you have the wrong word in a wrong section you will get it wrong. Example: Christian, ----, Cordero, Chile, ----, Comer
4) If you have 6 unique answers you will get 6 points. If you and someone else posted the same answer to any one section, you do not get a point.
5) The person who completes all 6 sections first will have to enter their answer and type ‘’STOP’’. Once you see ‘’STOP’’ on the screen everyone has to stop typing and press their enter key. Failure to do this will result in you being disqualified for that round. If after a minute, no one has said ‘’STOP’’ I will then say it. Chris and I will use our discretion depending on how much time we think a letter will take.
6) You are allowed to use as many resources as you like however, keep in mind you are working on a time limit.
7) The person who accumulates the most points at the end of the game is the winner 
We will try to keep the chat an hour and a half long as we know it’s a Sunday night. Hopefully, it will not exceed 2 hours. Anyone who is interested or has any concerns please post your comments below. Chris and I look forward to having a great time with you guys. Trust me, IT WILL BE FUN!!!

Good luck with that, it certainly sounds like fun. I probably won't be able to participate due to my weird time-zone but you never know do you? I think there's a few of us that are going to be using Skype for different fun things with Spanishdict.
And I'm thinking that no matter where you are in the world when you log-on with Spanishdict, chances are you are going to be able to join-in on Skype with someone :o
