Singular or plural

He leído la siguiente frase "¿Por qué no nos incluyó? Mi pregunta, ¿Ya que "nos" es plural por qué no usar "incluyeron"?

(This is my first attempt at asking a question in Spanish; so please feel free to comment on my spanish, in addition to the question.)

Because it says "Why didn't he/she/you usted form include us"? If it was with incluyeron it would be "Why didn't they include us". Also "nos" does not correspond to incluyeron that would be incluimos, and that would make it "We didn't we include ourselves" and that would be not right at all. Not right at all I say.

Or said in another way: nos is an object pronoun; not the subject of the verb. If the subject had been nosotros the verb would have been plural [incluimos]. It is the subject of the verb that determines whether the verb is singular or plural; not the direct or indirect objects.
