Always heard "to count on", puedes contar conmigo, but just today "Mariposas cuenta con 700 chicas entre 5 y 13 años que asisten a escuelas de Dallas e Irving". ¿Que opinan?

I alway say "contar con..."

Yes it is alternative way of saying to have . It also mean to count on or to expect.
